We're always trying to find new ways of marketing our clients homes and communicating to customers latest market trends. We're now advertising all of our new sales and lettings instructions on Twitter. Potential buyers and tenants on Twitter will be able to "follow us" and receive real time updates as we take new property on. Similarly, anyone with a Facebook profile can become a "fan" of ours and get regular updates on what's happening at our offices, meet the team and get market information. Maybe that's why we say "we're refreshingly different".

Gascoigne Billinghurst joins national award scheme recognising the best estate agents in the country.
08/01/10

We are once again entering the Estate Agent Awards which recognises the best estate agents based on research conducted through homebuyers and sellers around the country. The scheme measures the quality of customer service provided by agents through the home buying and selling process.
Phil Spencer, pictured, presenter of Channel 4's Location, Location property programme says, "I've been involved with the scheme for 6 years now and absolutely believe it to be the most relevant in the current market . The fact that customers are the judges and they determine the winners makes the awards unique. The customers are the ones who experience the service levels of the agents on a daily basis, so they are in a unique position to assess their performance".
"Any agent that registers for the scheme is making a public pledge that they are focused on providing the best possible service to their clients whether they be buying or selling through the agent" says Simon Brown, Managing Director of Awards For Business who run the national scheme. "In a difficult market customers need to be certain agents are working their hardest to earn their fees".
Simon Dunand, Managing Partner of our Hinchley Wood and Claygate offices says, "We take our levels of customer service very seriously because we know clients have a choice. We have always been very proud of the personal service we provide and this is great way to demonstrate how good we really are".
The national scheme is backed by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). David Dalby, Residential Director at RICS, said "This is the fifth year that RICS have been involved with the awards, which we support because the results are based solely on customer satisfaction rather than the opinions of a judging panel".
To win an Estate Agent of the Year Award, a firm has to demonstrate a consistently high level of service and, to achieve this, they must ensure that staff follow those standards of efficiency, good communication and transparency that differentiate the exceptional agent from the ordinary one.

Cold snap!
08/01/10

The recent cold snap has not stopped us selling and letting houses and apartments. Some of us have managed to get into our offices wrapped up against the elements. The photograph shows Alastair Read of our Hinchley Wood office, an experienced snow boarder, who was tempted to bring his board into work!
Many of our team, trapped at home, have been able to work remotely, having the facility to log into their work emails, download our bespoke buyer and seller software programme and were available on their mobile phones.
Simon Dunand, Managing Partner of Hinchley Wood and Claygate offices said "today's technology allows all of our people to work from home if need be, so it's business as usual in spite of the inclement weather".

Award winning Christmas window
14/12/09

Our Claygate office has won yet another award, this time for their Christmas window display. Although buying a house is not on many peoples minds at Christmas time we always make an effort to enter the spirit of Christmas by decorating our windows in festive style. This year the Claygate office had all of their property photographs decorated with baroque style frames sporting holly and gift tags. Central to the theme were photos of the team wearing red Santa style hats which have been well received by the public and must surely show that estate agents have a sense of humour. Simon Dunand, Managing Partner of our Claygate office, is photographed with other winners at the Claygate turning on of the Christmas lights.

Entering the spirit of things!
30/10/09

The Cobham office of Gascoigne Billinghurst held a 'pumpkin carving' competition in the week run up to Halloween. Pictured are three of the entries. Won by David Creffield of the branch, Ian Davies, Group Managing Director comments: "Well done David for his entry which beat me into 2nd place!! More to the point this fun focus on a seasonal/annual event provides us with the opportunity to present a fun and interesting window display, with all of the resultant benefits for us and our clientele!"

Fun day winner wins digital camera
27/10/09

Once again we had our usual stall at this year's Hinchley Wood fun day. This year we were asking the public to guess the combined value of a selection of homes we'd sold this year. Entrants had to select the correct combined value from a choice of six and the winner was Aileen Widdowson who won a digital camera. Proceeds raised from the sale of competition entry tickets will go towards improving the Hinchley Wood Christmas lights.

The winner is pictured receiving her camera from Roly Matthews of our Hinchley Wood office.

27/10/09

We are proud to sponsor Esher Football Club's under 11's Esher Wizards team. The team are now looking very smart with our logo on their shirts and are now enthusiastically working their way up the league. The team's home ground is off Lynwood Road, near Hinchley Wood Station, and supporters are always welcome.

Pictured with the team are Roly Matthews from our Hinchley Wood office and Simon Dunand, Managing Partner. News of the Team's fortunes will regularly appear in our Claygate and Hinchley Wood window displays.

£870 raised for Princess Alice Hospice!
15/10/09

The market is improving and as a result we have many more serious buyers than sellers at the moment.

As an incentive to potential sellers during July, August and September we arranged to donate £10 for every free market appraisal carried out by our Claygate and Hinchley Wood offices. We had a great response from the public and so we were kept very busy during the traditionally quieter holiday months.

We managed to raise £870 and Simon Dunand, Managing Partner, is pictured presenting a cheque for the amount raised to Karen Whitehorn from The Princess Alice Hospice.

Help support Princess Alice Hospice!
27/07/09

The market is improving and as a result we have many more serious buyers than sellers at the moment.

As an incentive to potential sellers we have arranged to donate £10 for every FREE market appraisal we carry out during July and August.

We’ll even make a donation to the hospice if you are not looking to move home at the moment but would simply like to help the hospice raise funds. Call us to arrange an appointment.

Princess Alice Hospice is a charity providing all patient care and support free of charge. They give outstanding end of life care to adult patients, and support to their families and friends across a large part of Surrey, south west London and Middlesex. As a leading UK Hospice, learning, teaching and research are also central to their work, and they deliver innovative care programmes to both local and national audiences. Fundraising and community support are crucially important to their continued work as a charity and in supplementing their modest NHS grant.. Over £7 million is needed each year to provide these vital and much needed services, with limited NHS funding over 75% of funding must be raised through voluntary donations and fundraising.

13/07/09

For the seventh year running we are sponsoring the Claygate Country 5 Run. The Run takes place on Sunday, 12th July and starts from Claygate Recreation Ground at 10.30am. We have several staff members running this year and there are other members of the team who will be giving out medals as runners come across the finishing line.

The race attracts runners of all calibre, ranging from running clubs to veterans and there are even prizes for fastest mother/daughter, mother/son, father/son and father daughter. Our Managing Partner at Claygate, Simon Dunand, awards the trophies to the winners.

Vistajet Cooperation
11/11/08

Ian Davies, MD of Gascoignes group, flew by helicopter to a reception event held by Vistajet at the newly refurbished Oxford airport, in November. Gascoigne Billinghurst and fellow agents Beauchamp Estates of Mayfair have recently arranged for copies of their exclusive “reside” publication to be provided on all of Vistajets aircrafts worldwide, thereby capturing for their clients an exclusive readership, as they jet around the world. Vistajets, whose UK base is at Farnborough Airport can provide a private jet service for individuals and corporations who wish to fly from/to anywhere in world and avoid the delays so often associated with commercial airlines. Says Ian (pictured right boarding a six seater jet) “I hope we can arrange for prospective buyers of some our further flung property sales instructions to engage the services of Vistajet for their travel arrangements”
