By rail/bus
Trains to London and Guildford stop at Woking station. The journey time to London is an estimated 30 minutes. Buses run to Kingston and elsewhere and there is a plethora of towns large and small, all within easy distance of the village.
By car
From the M25 clockwise or anti clockwise, leave at Junction 11, taking the A317 to a roundabout, taking the first exit to the A320, staying on this road, straight through into Woking.
From the M3, turn off at Junction 3, taking the A.322, through Bisley and Knaphill and turning left onto the A.324, which will take you through into Woking.
The A3 also passes south and east of Woking, skirting Guildford, providing access via the A.320 back into Woking. |

Woking
A vibrant town with a wide and varied history, which has grown up around the Basingstoke Canal and the railway line, which currently dissects the town.
The town itself is served by a good selection of shops set in two major covered shopping malls as well as a range of more individual shops, theatre and cinema complex. The New Victorian Theatre, seating 1,300 is the South East’s largest offering productions direct from the West End. Other attractions include the Big Apple entertainment complex, The HG Wells Suite, Leisure Centre and Pool in the Park whilst within the borough boundary, Woking boasts fourteen golf courses.
HG Wells lived in Woking for many years, writing his novel "The War of the Worlds", from his home here and indeed the Martians landing place was at Horsell Common, which he could see from his house on the hill above the station!
The town is surrounded by commons and wooded areas, with Chobham common being a short distance away being the largest area of heath land in Surrey.
The M3 lies to the West, with the M25 to the North and A3 to the East, providing good access to many areas of the South East. For the rail traveller, Woking station provides regular rail links to Waterloo within half an hour, links to the South West of England and many other centres, making the town extremely popular with commuters.
Within four miles is the Cathedral City of Guildford , the county town with its historic castle, wide and varied shopping centre and sports facilities including swimming pool and skating rink.
