By rail/bus
Barely sixteen miles from London! Claygate has its own station, with a regular service into London Waterloo – passing through other handy stops like Surbiton (change for Woking and stations to Southampton), Wimbledon (with its District Line underground), Clapham Junction (change for almost anywhere in the South East!) and Vauxhall (with its Victoria Line link).

In the other direction the line services Surrey’s county city of Guildford. There is also a local bus service terminating at Kingston.

By car
From the M25, exit at Cobham, J10 taking the A3 towards London. Take the second exit off the A3 and turn left at the roundabout towards Esher. At the first traffic lights turn right into Milbourne Lane. Claygate village is approximately one mile from the traffic lights.

From Esher take the A244, Copsem Lane. At the first traffic lights turn left into Milbourne Lane. Claygate village is approximately one mile from the traffic lights.

From London take the A3 south. Turn off at the junction signposted Esher and Sandown. Turn right at this junction. At the first traffic lights turn right into Milbourne Lane. Claygate village is approximately one mile from the traffic lights.

  Claygate
One of those delightful Surrey villages that has retained its village charm and remains a delightful place to live, supporting a good range of local shops and excellent restaurants, with a wide selection of schools all within easy distance.

Main roads, like the A3, have been diverted around it, so it avoids most through traffic and noise levels are low. The M25, however, is conveniently close without being intrusive, and gives easy access to Heathrow and Gatwick airports.

Yet here we are, barely sixteen miles from London! Ideally placed for access to a variety of local centres, you can quickly get from Claygate to Esher, Kingston, Guildford - and Richmond is within easy driving distance.

All have an excellent choice of shops, restaurants, cinemas and, in the case of Guildford and Richmond, theatres with frequent showings either of pre-West End productions, or those coming out to go on tour.

Places to visit
For those with an eye to history and the open air, there’s Hampton Court just down the road, Polesden Lacey, Claremont Gardens and a heap of other National Trust properties nearby. Then there’s Surrey’s best kept secret, Painshill Park at Cobham, with Hampton Court, Home, Bushy and Richmond Parks all virtually on the doorstep. Not to mention Old Father Thames within a few minutes drive.
